Star Wars The Force Awakens was fantastic!
On Saturday afternoon I saw Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens and I thought it was superb! What a fantastic experience, it really was that good.
I must admit I was a bit nervous before I saw the film with my wife (she loved it too!). That was mainly because I really wanted it to be brilliant and I didn’t want it to be flat like the prequels (although I always liked Episode III Revenge of the Sith). Thankfully there was no trace of it being flat at all, it moved along at an amazing pace and the new characters were introduced very well. There was a good level of humour too which worked but I have to say when you see Han Solo (Harrison Ford), Chewie (Peter Mayhew) and Leia (Carrie Fisher) again its a wonderful feeling, not forgetting Luke Skywalker (Mark Hammill)! Those of us old enough to have seen the films when they were kids have been waiting a long time to see them again and it didn’t disappoint! Harrison Ford was superb he really was, it certainly felt like you were watching the same character just 30 years older.
Overall then I would highly recommend anyone to go and see the film. Unfortunately I’ve seen a lot of reviews from people that criticised everything and you know what everyone is entitled to their opinion and its not perfect (what is?) but you can tell that no matter what film they made those fans were never going to like it. You have to look on this as a new trilogy, accept the originals for what they were and try to approach these with a fresh approach! It certainly worked for me, I just found it to be a magical couple of hours. Go on, go and see it!
